Alice Springs Kilgariff Centre
The YMCA of Central Australia Inc. came to the Northern Territory (NT) in 1965.
With the rapid growth of the YMCA in Central Australia, the need for a Board of Management became evident, and on 26th June 1979, the first meeting took place under the Chairmanship of Senator Bernie Kilgariff. On 23rd February 1985, Nick Dondas, the Deputy Chief Minister officially opened the ‘Kilgariff YMCA Centre' on Sadadeen Road, Alice Springs where we remain today.
Currently, the YMCA of Central Australia Inc. is involved in providing; a Health Club facility, Group Fitness Classes, Child Care Early Learning Centres, Indoor Rock Climbing Wall, Social Dancing, Gymnastics, Annual King of the Mountain race and many other community based programs on and off site.
The YMCA is a not-for-profit, community based organisation which aims to provide opportunities for ALL people to grow in Body, Mind & Spirit, through the provision of quality programs and services.
